Some good articles on the concept of “Son of God”:
Did Jesus really claim to be God incarnate in human flesh?
Or, as skeptics argue, did His followers later invent those claims and attribute them to Him?
Thankfully, the biblical account of His life and ministry leaves no doubt about who Jesus declared Himself to be.

But what exactly does “Son of God” mean?
We know it cannot be literal, for that would mean that the “Father” procreated him by a woman or a goddess
(as the pagan religions, which had such human activities among the gods).
These ideas are foreign to the true faith of the Bible. There is no heavenly consort; God has no wife; there is no goddess.
And Arianism, which claimed that Jesus was the first of God’s creation, cannot be right either, for it denies too much Scripture. To understand what is meant here we have to consider several lines of revelation. Read the article by Old Testament scholar Allen Ross.
